Exorti · The Story Behind the Collection

Born From an Island.
Finished With Sound.

Some ideas arrive fully formed. Others grow slowly from memory, from earth, from an unexpected conversation in a New York studio

The Founder

I Grew Up Surrounded
by Gemstones.

I am from Kandy, Sri Lanka a city in the heart of an island that has been producing some of the world’s finest gemstones for over two thousand years. Growing up, crystals were not mystical objects. They were part of daily life. You saw them in the markets, in the hands of artisans, in the jewellery your grandmother wore. They were ordinary and extraordinary at the same time. When I moved to New York and started building Exorti, I knew I wanted to bring that heritage with me not as a selling point, but as a foundation. The crystals I work with are not sourced from a catalogue. They come from the same earth I grew up on. That connection is real, and it matters in every single piece

“I didn’t start Exorti to sell jewelry. I started it to share something I grew up believing that the stones from this island carry something different.”

— Eranjan, Founder of Exorti

The Meeting

Then I Met Kate.
And Everything Shifted.

I met Kate Dillingham at an event in New York. She is a cellist a Grammy Voting Member, a composer, one of the most instinctively creative musicians I have encountered. We started talking about sound, about energy, about the way certain frequencies make you feel something in your chest before your brain catches up

At some point I mentioned the crystals. I told her about Sri Lanka, about the way our gemstones are formed, about the belief ancient and widely held that crystals hold and respond to energy. Kate didn’t laugh. She leaned forward

“Sound is vibration,” she said. “Crystals respond to vibration. We are speaking the same language.” That was the moment the Resonance Collection was born

The Idea

What If the Music Could
Live Inside the Stone?

The concept was simple but unlike anything either of us had seen. Kate would perform specific cello compositions  frequencies chosen with intention for each crystal’s known properties directly over the stones. The rose quartz would receive music of tenderness, compassion, and love. The amethyst would receive music of stillness, clarity, and calm.

The person who wears the pendant would then have access to those same frequencies through a QR card so the energising experience never has to end. They could return to Kate’s music any time they wanted to reconnect with their crystal, to reset their energy, to come back to themselves

We looked at each other and knew immediately. This had never been done before.

The Sessions

We Tested It.
What People Felt
Stopped Us Cold.

Before creating a single piece for sale, we ran a series of private sessions. We invited a small group of people friends, colleagues, people with no prior knowledge of what we were testing and we gave them pendants that Kate had energised.

We told them nothing beyond the crystal type. Then we played Kate’s music and asked them to simply hold the pendant and listen.

The responses were immediate and consistent. People described feeling a warmth spreading from the stone. A quieting of the mind. One person started crying not from sadness, she said, but from a feeling of being held. Another described it as the first time in months she had felt genuinely still.

We ran two sessions. Every single person asked if they could keep the pendant

“I didn’t expect to feel anything. I’m not someone who believes in crystals. But something happened in that room that I still can’t fully explain.”

— Session participant, New York

The Journey

Back to the Island
That Started Everything.

Once we knew the concept worked, I went home. I travelled through Sri Lanka’s gemstone regions — places I had known since childhood but was now seeing through completely different eyes. I was no longer just visiting. I was sourcing.I handpicked every rose quartz and amethyst for this first collection. Not from a supplier’s catalogue. Not from a bulk order. I held each stone, assessed its quality, felt its weight. Most were rejected. The ones that made it through had something the others didn’t – a clarity, a presence that you can feel before you can explain it. The pendants were then handcrafted by artisans in Sri Lanka — people who have been working with these stones for generations. Each crystal hand-set in sterling silver. Each one unique. Each one made by human hands, not machines. When the pendants arrived in New York, Kate was waiting. She had already composed the frequencies. The session lasted three hours. When it was over, we sat in silence for a long time.

“Standing in those gemstone fields, holding stones that had been forming in this earth for millions of years — I understood for the first time what it means to carry something ancient.”

— Eranjan

Today

This Is Just the Beginning.

The Resonance Collection is our first release. Thirty rose quartz and five amethyst pendants – the first batch, hand-sourced, hand-crafted, and energised in a single session that can never be repeated.

We will release more batches. We will work with other musicians. We will go deeper into the relationship between sound, crystal, and the human body. But this first collection — these 35 pieces — will always be where it started. The moment two people from completely different worlds looked at each other and said: this has never been done before. Let’s do it.
